"These recent watercolor works highlight a few of my favorite themes. Realism dips into fantastical bursts of color, with metaphorical details sprinkled in to convey something more ambiguous than stark narratives. The portraits capture a likeness of no one in particular, but seek more so to depict some form of an inner struggle. It is what a person may be trying to hide that is being exposed; self doubt, ego, anxiety. However, the open-ended moments that I choose to convey invites the viewer to create a personal interpretation."
