THE END OF THE WORLD

QUINCY SCOTT JONES

The end of the world comes in a small brown box marked US POSTAL FIRST CLASS.
WARNING: CONTENTS MAY CONTAIN THE END OF THE WORLD.  HANDLE
WITH CARE.  We sit there, facing the end of the world wondering how they fit it in such
a small box.  More importantly, why did the US Postal Service have a designated stamp
for the end of the world?  Of course, we keep it closed.  Closed, the world is both ending,
and never ending. Closed, there is closure, seclusion, isolation, as we are each in our
own world and this world never ends.  So we keep the brown box in our apartment
pigsty.

The world is ours, but the end is nigh.
